"Threads Of
Time"
All
female Irish band Cherish The Ladies' major label debut release
is among our favorite CDs in the catalog. The CD starts out with
a foot-stomping, take-no-prisoners reel, and ratchets up from
there to the incredible "Ladies' Pantalettes". The CD also includes
beautiful ballads and traditional pieces of unfettered, heartfelt
authenticism. "Ballad of the Foxhunter", featuring the band's
vocalist Aiofe Clancy and the french horn of Peter Gordon as a
special guest, is a standout, as is the acapella "Bonny Light
Horseman". This CD touches the heart without being sentimental.
There isn't a moment on "Threads Of Time" that isn't sincere and
honest. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Irish traditional
music.

"The arrangements are exquisite. The band is true to the Gaelic
tradition, provactive, and innovative. I especially like their
rendition of the Yeats poem (far more than the author's)."
"These
six women are award-winning musicians. Daughters of immigrants
(or immigrants themselves), their voices and instruments reverberate
with their deep love of Irish music and of their own heritage.
If you have not yet experienced Cherish the Ladies, this is a
great place to start!"
